Preschool Playday

Preschool Playday

Preschoolers, bring your favorite adult to Preschool Playday at the Hastings Museum on the second Saturday of September, October, January, February, March and April. Preschool Playday starts at 10:00 a.m., and lasts about 45 minutes.

Regular museum admission or museum membership covers the cost of Preschool Playday. Reservations are requested by Friday for the Saturday program. September 11, 2010 -- I Spy with My Little Eye
We’ll visit our new exhibit, Treasures from the Vaults and the planetarium’s night sky as we try to spot fun shapes, colors and items.

October 9, 2010 -- Winnie-the-Pooh & Friends
Preschoolers, bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to Winnie the Pooh’s Tea Party Preschool Playday. You and your favorite adult will find out about Pooh’s friends and real bears, which inspired our cuddly bear friends. The day wouldn’t be complete without indulging in some of Pooh’s favorite snacks!

January 8, 2011 -- Blast Off!
Twinkle, twinkle little star. How I wonder what you are? We’ll visit the planetarium for a close up view of our solar system and our star, the Sun. This Playday will have you spinning in circles!

February 12, 2011 -- Ooey, Gooey, Slippery, Slimy Science
It’s time to get Ooey, Gooey, and Slimy as we have some Science fun! Children are born scientists and will enjoy making Slippery concoctions from common household items. These household products may be mixed safely with amazing results.

March 12, 2011 -- Kool-Aid Kids
We’ll go back in time to meet one of Nebraska’s most famous people, Edwin Perkins, the inventor of Kool-Aid. We’ll shop in the Perkins 20th century store and then follow in Edwin’s footsteps to create fun products. It should be a sweet treat down Memory Lane!

April 9, 2011 -- Mud, Seeds, Sun & Fun
It’s spring; time to till the soil and plant our gardens! We’ll learn about seeds and what helps them grow into beautiful plants. We’ll take home our own little garden and enjoy a tasty garden treat.

There will be no Preschool Playday during May, June, July and August due to SummerFun. Preschool Playday will return in the Fall.
