The Hidden World of Bears

The Hidden World of Bears

Sponsored by Real Estate Group of Hastings

In conjunction with the large-format film Bears, the museum will host the traveling exhibit: The Hidden World of Bears in the East Gallery from Sunday, January 14 through Saturday, March 3. This exhibit comes to us from the Bell Museum of Natural History in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This exhibition focuses on black bears, following their life from birth in a winter den through summer feeding, playing and interactions with other bears and people, and finally to the construction of a new den in the fall. The exhibit consists of photographs, interpretive panels, interactive bears sounds, video and hands-on objects. The photos and information on black bear behavior originate from the insights of long-time bear researcher, Dr. Lynn Rogers. The exhibit and film are great for school groups, families and adults alike.
