Polar Bear Diorama

The dioramas, life-size exhibits of wildlife specimens set in realistic natural surroundings with a painted background, depict nearly 40 North American mammals.

Did you know?

Most of the dioramas at the Hastings Museum were painted in the late 1930's as part of the National Works Project Administration following the Great Depression. The dioramas themselves are considered outstanding artifacts by museum professionals.
