The Palestra Summer Tour visits the Kool-Aid exhibit at the Hastings Museum. Click on the image above to play. For over 75 years now, Kool-Aid® has provided smiles for millions of thirsty folks and now a permanent exhibit at the Hastings Museum of Natural and Cultural History honors the tradition and will continue to create new smiles of its own! Kool-Aid: Discover the Dream, an interactive exhibit with life-like murals and replicas, a fiber-optic river of Kool-Aid, interactive DVD kiosks and even the original Kool-Aid Man costume, chronicles the creation of Kool-Aid from its humble beginnings in Hastings, Nebraska by creator Edwin Perkins to its present day status as an international icon and beloved soft drink. "The Kool-Aid exhibit is a dream come true for the museum," said Museum Director Terry Hunter. "Thanks to the diligent efforts and outstanding generosity of several members of Edwin Perkins' family, Kraft Foods, Scott Clarke Design Services and individual donors, volunteers, and museum staff, this exhibit shares the magnificent story of a man and his dream from the birthplace of Kool-Aid, right here in Hastings. No other location in the entire world can make this claim to fame and we are so proud to be able to permanently share the Kool-Aid story here at the Hastings Museum."
