Season of Light
Holiday Tradition Continues—In New FormatIn 1994, the planetarium presented a new holiday show, ‘Tis the Season. The show was a hit and audiences requested its return year after year. With this year’s renovation to fulldome, slides are now part of the planetarium’s past. So what happens to the slide-based ‘Tis the Season? Answer: we bring it back in the brand-new format! Season of Light is the same great show as before; only the format and title have changed. You’ll take the journey through holiday traditions from cultures around the world and see how these traditions have been incorporated into our modern celebrations. And we investigate the mystery behind the “Star of Bethlehem.” In fulldome, these scenes take on a whole new look! Season of Light begins Saturday, November 21 and will run through January 3, 2010. Showtimes are 2:00 p.m. weekdays, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m Saturdays and 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Sundays. As always, admission to the planetarium is free with paid museum admission or membership.
