Planet 51The Lied Super Screen Theatre in the Hastings Museum will feature the 35mm family film Planet 51 on the giant screen on Friday at 7:15 p.m., Saturday at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on January 29-31 and again on February 5-7. It will also play for Family Friday on Friday, February 5. American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker, lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders--like Chuck! With the help of his robot companion "Rover" and his new friend Lem, Chuck must navigate his way through the dazzling, but bewildering, landscape of Planet 51 in order to escape becoming a permanent part of the Planet 51 Alien Invaders Space Museum. Starring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Gary Oldman and John Cleese, Planet 51 is PG for mild sci-fi action and some suggestive humor. All 35mm film admissions are $4.50 per person. Seating is limited to 211 for each showing, so reservations are recommended. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call Visitor Services at 402-461-4629 or 1-800-508-4629, option zero.
